How is the car running? I have a similar issue with my coupe, scraping through emissions after a carbon clean the past couple of years. Looked at the price of a new cat from BMW and failed to find any aftermarket alternatives.

Then recently I started getting a flat spot in acceleration at around 3000 rpm - my code reader shows an O2 sensor issue and the live data shows static voltage reading on the bank 2 sensor. I have just ordered new lambda sensors and am hoping that it fixes the acceleration and emissions in time for my MOT in a month.

Might be worth reading codes and checking your lambda sensors before thinking about a new cat....

You have to find a “bent” MOT tester.

The car appears to run fine but I agree, it's a good idea the check the diagnostics just in case they reveal an issue I'm not aware of. Bearing in mind it's one hell of a lot cheaper to change the Lambda sensors I'm almost certain to do that first.

The lambda sensor in the car isn't the same value as lambda in the MOT machine so I wouldn't get them confused. I would start by looking at air leaks, input and exhaust. The second thing I would look at is temp sensors. Hook up a scanner and see if the temp sensor values make sense, particularly the one on air intake, I would be surprised if the cat is dead with so few km on the vehicle.
