Z3M Coupe Rye

I’m on a road trip from West Sussex into the wilds of East Sussex!
Visiting Rye, Great Dixter, Bodiam Castle, Sissinghurst, etc.

1st pic is my Z3,

2nd pic is a German registered Z3M coupe aka Breadvan.

I think the coupe is a 2.8. Love them, especially on those wheels.

Tailgate/bumper and exhaust. It has M wing mirrors though. Wheels are also bespoke to the M. Red one here has non std wheels.

Its a Hamburg pre 2.000 plate and IMHO the 3.0 was released later....

I, wrongly, thought that they didn't do a 3.0 clownshoe, but RealOEM says they did - so it could be a 3.0.

I finally tracked down the owner tonight, after approaching several other German speakers in the hotel, who gave me funny looks!

anyway, it is indeed a 2001 3.0 from Hamburg, he’s owned it for nigh on 12 years and it’s his daily driver.

Except on really sunny days, when he rides his 1971 Norton Commando 750

On closer inspection this morning the Z3 coupe was an auto, with a lovely walnut centre console chock full of extra dials.

Back home now .. total mileage 218, the longest I’ve ever done in my Z3.
And it was a joy to go full analogue and navigate cross country using only a £2.99 road atlas from Tesco!

Bonus spot on the way home was a W reg blue Z3, lady driver who followed me for about 200 yds near Ansty, Sussex, then turned off.
But we exchanged waves, as protocol demands!
