Very interesting reading through your posts, which mainly confirms what I've been thinking for the last 18 months or so. When I retired the Plan A was to go touring over the Alps, down to the Lakes and back through the South of France, Millau Viaduct and gently north back home. (BTW hello t-tony and mint) Like others have said the 2.8 Z3 is a fantastic 6 pot roadster fun car, which for the record I have said to all my family, if ever I decide to sell that car then it's time to worry about my mental capacity, however for this trip even would want something a little more of a cruiser, more comfortable for the wife but obviously with top down capability, enter the 6 pot E89 in my mind. Now I do appreciate the lack of boot space for this kind of trip, but we can overcome that one way or another. Because I love the 3 so much, done so much to it mechanically, plus been to LM24, LM, Spa & Nurnburgring Classics, it makes me feel quite ill the thought of exchanging it for an E89 and then like has been mentioned, regretting the move big time! I suppose if after 3 years or so I still loved the E89 then perhaps that might be different, however listening you folks I think it could be the other way around! BTW Plan B is just like all of yours......building bird boxes and DIY due Covid...grrr!
