Out of nowhere pops this little beauty on group buy on zpost. Guy is getting them made but I've spent all this months car parts allocation... :bag:

I'd have to get it repainted as I don't like the carbon fibre but after the Liberty Walk on in the first post, this is perfect.

@GazHyde speak to this guy:

http://www.unique-customs.co.uk/

he made my front splitter and that was only £80, can't imagine it would cost him much more to make you a fibreglass spoiler, and then its just a case of getting it painted which you could do with rattle cans. he could then make more and sell them to other Z4 peeps

Got a reply last week from the custom guy, but been ill so not acted on it. Seems happy enough to make one for the Z4, but needs a donor vehicle to work to. They are a bit far from me, but I'm gonna scour the breakers and see if I can pick up a cheap boot lid. Watch this space! :D

Cool, can start a list then. I'm sure if we can find a style we all like would be ideal, if not he will at least have a boot lid to go ham on!

So.... boot lid acquired thanks to @David's contacts. Have @Rally on board with the process too. The three of us need to have a design discussion to decide on what we want, then it's all go :)

Watch this space :D

Thought I would update this thread. Sadly things did not go at all well with Unique Customs. Not well at all. At first things were really promising, and the day after the boot lid was delivered he sent back some pictures of the proposed design mocked up in clay. He was responsive to messages and everything looked like we were on to a winner. Would go for a couple of days and he'd respond with further progress.

Then it went deathly silent. David got involved trying to contact him, and he was OK again for a week or so. But then the quiet started again.

Eventually after a few weeks and ultimatum was sent via a PayPal complaint. Either give us back the money we'd sent him, or deliver the spoiler. This seemed to do the trick and he (quite literally) rushed through finishing them, and posted them to David. Job done we thought.

What we received was truly appalling quality, and when held up to the boot lid of Davids Z4 it didn't actually sit properly at any angle. Rob took his and gave it to his bodywork mate, who confirmed it would neither fit properly, nor could be it be made to fit properly. I think a few rude words were uttered at the time. Mine is now in the bin. Don't get me wrong, we were expecting to have to have them rubbed down and painted before fitting, not cut and reshaped to vaguely fit.

All the time this was dragging on, he was merrily posting other completed work up on his Instagram page. So, lesson learnt on this one - never get any unique custom work done by Unique Customs.

I'm sorry to read this story Gaz, but it seems quite a common occurrence in today's world. As you may all know I am not a great fan of adding bits of plastic to my Zed, that's not to say I think people who do, are wrong for doing it, quite the opposite in fact. I like to see a job done well and some of the spoilers you have listed on this thread do rattle my can!
What I find more disturbing is that one of our own, albeit Gaz (Rich Git) has been fobbed off with a product that is not fit for purpose and cannot be adapted in any way to make it fit. I'm not sure if this story can be avoided by any of us at least once in a lifetime, but it does go to show that unless you have seen another in the flesh, then don't be tempted to part with any money until you have the part in your hand and know it's right.

That's really condescending Mike. We went in to this eyes open, and when you look at what he has produced before it was low risk. We even had a recommendation from someone who bought something that was good quality. So while it seems he is able to produce high quality custom products, for some reason he chose not to in this case. The feedback is about the inconsistency in his ability, not about whether I'm a stupid with money.
