European Grand Prix practice & debate
After the drivers' briefing on Friday evening, changes have been made to the circuit.
Several kerbs on the new track came loose in first practice, cutting the tyres of most cars, most notably at Turn Six.
The kerb there, which failed during the second session, has been removed overnight and replaced with paint.
When it emerged after first practice on Friday that the kerbs were cutting the tyres, there was a brief worry that second practice would have to be postponed or even cancelled. But some hasty remedial work pretty much solved the problem, and more work has taken place overnight.
The exit kerb at Turn Six, which was the main problem, has been removed, and there have also been some changes made to the pit-lane entry, to ease the concern of some drivers that if they got it wrong, there could be a "monumental accident", as Nico Rosberg put it. The pit-lane entry line has been extended and moved to the left.
FP3 Valtteri Bottas damaged a sidepod on his Williams after a drain cover came loose.
A traffic cone was placed in front of the drain cover. No expense spared in F1.
Sergio Perez into the wall at Turn 15, his right rear tyre hanging off the Force India. That was the end of the session.
