Congratulations @BMBabe , @Gail and @hard top all well deserved.

BIG THANK YOU to @hard top for the comentaries and regular pictures.

Sorry to @Andy McDonnell looks like I stole your fourth "at the flag"! Blame Hartley!

You guys and fantasyGP have kept me interested in a sport I would have given up on to be honest. A too dominant Mercedes, dodgy penalties, naff rules, fuel limits and some boring races makes it hard to justify the time sometimes, I've lost count of the races I fell asleep in, usually in the last 10 laps! But the banter and competition on here outweighed all that!

Roll on 2018. :racecar:

Thanks @smiffy, I find these days that you have to get deeper into the sport to enjoy it, not like in the old days.
I find I need to follow all the info on the technical side of things as well.
The cars this season were larger, wider, with larger wheels and rubber and most drivers said that made it difficult to overtake on today's track layouts.

I kind of like compare it to American football (that I hate) as in you need to follow the strategy to make it interesting to watch.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to the teams being forced to save money and to try and be 'green' ie, smaller engines, less fuel etc.

The only interesting thing about the last race was, which back markers were going to finish in the money.

Haas run a Ferrari 062 1.6 V6 t Engine.

The VF-17 follows the team’s very first car, the VF-16, which carried Haas F1 Team to an eighth-place finish in the 2016 constructor standings. Twenty-nine points were scored by the VF-16 during Haas F1 Team’s inaugural season, the largest points haul of any new Formula One team in this millennium.

....Time McLaren got rid of Honda.
I seem to recall hearing something that suggests that might just be happening. Maybe something Alonso said possibly? =))

November 30th.

Honda boss Yusuke Hasegawa believes the company "needed" to switch to new surroundings in 2018, and has "no regrets" over moving to a new power unit concept this year.

Honda, following three years with McLaren, which were characterised by a lack of reliability and performance, will link up with Toro Rosso next season.

Hasegawa believes that Honda will be able to profit from operating in a different environment, reckoning the change should assist it in understanding where it can improve.

McLaren's split with Honda was prompted by the manufacturer struggling during the first half of the campaign, having overhauled its power unit design, in a bid for greater long-term potential.

In a way, I do feel sorry for Honda, they've had the rough end of the stick over this. What was made their problems more visible is how damn reliable the other power units have been in comparison.

In days of old, when racing meant thrashing the nuts off the engine and diving in for fuel, engine failures were more common and I must say more spectacular! The current endurance racing format with fuel flow restrictions, fuel load limits makes the less reliable unit more obvious. The number of engines limit with the penalties attached to changes, just makes a failure even worse.

I'd really like to see a more level playing field as well. All engines dyno'ed and sealed with a maximum area under the curve, would even stuff out.
