Hi Tony,
Was to be at the end of the month but looks like it might have to wait till after Xmas. Richard is selling up and moving and wants first shout, so with all the work he's helped me with I thought it was only fair to wait.

Roy.
Erm have I missed something here?

Why you selling Roy? :(
Hi Dave, don't be too shocked, I'm not giving up Z-ing. We're looking at down sizing and staying local so we won't be able to get anything with a garage, be lucky to get parking so a Z4coupe will be my next Z and kept outside.
In my 11th year with the Z3 and my son doesn't want it so Richard has expressed an interest and is also moving but he's going to Northampton with a garage so it's a good home for my Z3. Z4 isn't such a bad move IMO with plenty of performance and great looks Im sure I'll really like it. Just have to find one that suits me and my pocket. You can blame @Lee for letting me have a drive of his great COUPE.( plus wife might even venture out with me in a Z4 coupe if I slow down a bit.) =))

@Connor your welcome to come have a drive to see if it’s what your after.

Lee
Thanks Lee, I will have a think about it. It looks/sounds like a well sorted example. Not sure whether I want something a little cheaper with a little bit of work required.

There does look like there’s a few people looking at parting with their 3’s though!

Connor.

Hello all,

Been a while since I last posted but been lurking in the shadows for a while.

Having sold my Z3, and then subsequently my Z4 and being car-less for the final 6 months of university I am finally in a position to start thinking about getting a car that I actually want! I currently have a daily shed - Audi A4 avant 1.9tdi.. with 188000 miles! Which to be honest since May has done 7000 miles and hasn’t really missed a beat!

My dad has my old Z3, which has recently been fully resprayed, and I am massively jealous, so looking for a Z3 to get up to scratch for next spring.

Looking forward to having a slightly higher maintenance/modification budget too now my student days are behind me, and hopefully a couple of cruises could be on the cards.

Connor.
Welcome back to the active list and good luck with your new Z....................Frankie

I think I’ll be viewing a couple of cars at the weekend, now it’s been a while, so does anybody want to refresh my memory as to what to look out for when viewing/testing a Z3?

Thanks in advance.

I am going to view a car on Saturday that has a little rusting.. and I’ve just received a few photos.. anything that looks significantly bad?

It all bolts on other than the a piller i would think its surface rust but not seen a zed rust up there before. Unlock the roof and peal the rubber seal back not a place you want any holes for safety and function.

Thanks for the reply Ant, I don’t think I’ve seen rust there either...
A bit concerning really. Again, the sills/wings etc bolt on, but the A pillar could be a real issue. I’m hoping it’s all cosmetic, could be repaired with a bit of elbow grease, and that I can use it as a tool for negotiation!

Screen frame repairable Connor if it has corroded right through but would need the screen removing.
