Well I got my cam and installed it, front facing and the rear camera. I will post the pix tomorrow. It works really well and you can hardly notice it from looking at the front of the car when outside. The rear camera is also very good.

It does have a particular issue. When the car is not moving it pauses recording, this includes when I stop at lights. I want it to stay recording just in case someone backs into me or hits me from behind. Anyone know why it does that? :bashhead:

This is what I got - similar to the model others already have; Ebay number 251222946964

@Cooper I have had this camera on my car too and I think your problem is that you have motion detection turned on in one of the menus. When the car is stopped there won't be any motion detected in the image hence it stopping recording.

They are excellent camera's though for the money, where did you mount the rear camera. ?

I attached the rear camera to the suction cup that came with the kit and stuck it right in the middle of the plastic wind blocker. I know you can see it and the wire hanging down but to me it looks fine and it makes others aware that they are being recorded. Eventually I might remove the suction cap and drill it directly into the wind blocker [so no one can steal it when I leave the car with the hood down], or bend the camera bracket so I can stick it onto the blocker - this might be better???

I just disabled the G Sensor and it has made an improvement. I tell ya, the instructions that came with this thing are next to useless. I think the motion detector has to be set on a case by case basis to 'on' but I am note sure about that - have to read the instructions again when i get home.

Cheers.

No motion should be set to "OFF" as this is used if you want the camera to record whilst it is stationary and parked up and will only start recording when something moves within its field of view. This is useful obviously if you leave you car parked on the street and you suffer from prblems with people vandalising etc.

The G sensor sensitivity is for setting when a recorded file gets moved to the protected folder after a jolt to the car. If set too sensitive it will create loads of files in the protected folder as it will sense when you go over a pothole in the road rather than someone actually crashing into you as it is intended to be used for.

Thanks for the clarification. I read somewhere else that resetting that could assist with the issue. I will look for the motion detection setting but it is not mentioned in the settings menu items! I will let you know how it goes. Thanks! :)

Hi Aceman and Coop, that's a lot of info that I was not aware of and you seem to have this dash thing all sorted, me I'm having a problem with my rear camera not working and probably need to check the wire from windscreen right back in case I've trapped it, thats a job I'm not prepared to do until all the other jobs are out the way, I did put some pics up little while back but if Coop or yourself missed em I'll re post at the end of this one. Front cam works just fine but I have trouble uploading it onto my Apple iPad 4 even though I purchased Apple card reader, seems it don't recognise camera so won't load any thing from it. Maybe try through a computer, the thing is I watch my recordings on the camera screen so know it's ok, good enough for the time being. Concealing the wire to that rear camera was an absolute nightmare and really don't relish having it all out again, I've done it so the camera stays on the windbreak and wire is disconnected via the joiner plug which is concealed under the lift up access flap for the R/H roll bar securing bolt, this allows for W/Blocker to be removed with camera attached for cleaning and maintenance, the flap was notched out to let the wire up to the clear washer tube which hides it nicely up the inside of the chrome hoop, then exits so you only see an inch or so to the camera. Should work ok even with the hard top on cos the cam has nice wide angle lens, don't know for sure yet fingers crossed. Looks just fine to me but I then dropped a large screwdriver flat blade down onto the vinyl making small slit. Shame I was so clumsy after all that work, glad I'm not a mech and working on someone else's car. Rha. Roy.

Great pix and well done with the installation of the cameras, looks very professional. The pix of my setup from the front looks exactly the same but the back of mine is pretty sloppy at the moment - I will make it somewhat more concealed at a later date but as stated already, I don't mind people seeing the camera as it may keep them off my tail however I don't want someone to nick it! My picture quality is not so good as the car is in the shed and some light keeps reflecting off the glass and plastic.

I am very happy with the video cam quality front and rear. Beautiful!

See we picked exactly the same spot to mount the dash cam Cooper, and the bonus you have is that your rear cam works, makes me quite jealous, hope you have an easier time concealing your rear cam feed wire than I had, can't give you any advice as mine don't work yet but I did bring it down into the pass/footwell then along under Footwell trim to storidge box between seats that's when it got difficult, had to take roll bars out and was going to drill holes in one of them to get wires to cam but as seen didn't go that route, the clear washer tubing idea from Tony really did the business for me. But still have slit in vinyl to repair. Rha, Roy.

Hi , I recently bought 2 of the G1WH dashcams on ebay. One for me, and one for mrs Dobiwallah. US$49 each. I am quite happy with the quality of this dashcam. I have made some test footage with daylight, dusk and night. Opened up the cam to see if I didn't buy a cheap fake, but all was real.
Youtube is making it a bit blurry, in real it looks better.
