Tony's hand pictured blurred as he was working that fast , the speed explains all the time availible to actually drink tea. =))
Apprentice @Grumpy pictured very pleased in his accomplishment in removing the front strut.

A fast learner watched the master do one and then he was off like a man on a mission.
They had already removed the body brace when i arrived now thats some heavy duty kit, top work as always.

I shall reply to the above messages in a minute!
Firstly as always a huge thanks to @t-tony for your time and help yet again!
You have the patience of a saint trying to teach me! I did throughly enjoy myself playing in the zedshed Midlands. The car drove back lovely but had a steady ride back as I had 3 large pieces of brace lent against my passenger headrest.
Nice to see @Antm72 who popped in for a visit. Always good to have a catch up.
Here's a pic of said item! It's quite a bit of kit!

Anyway, in the cold old fridge that is the Z shed (Midlans) HQ this very afternoon me and my apprentice put Reggie on a strict diet. Off came god knows how many kilos in the body brace, but while we were at it we removed his redundant spare wheel carrier too. A few pictures of the "boy" hard at work.

Very privileged to be supping out of a special cup which was a lovely gift from the @Bozzy Steve and Sara.
By the time the third musketeer arrived, with his Costa's coffee!, we had moved onto the second project of the afternoon fitting some sport springs on @Tony Wilson Z4.
I remarked to Grumps that it was nice to see him working on a proper car, and this was the reaction, Monkey!!=))

And finally a quick pic of the car park before Dave and Ant headed off home.

We stood and nattered, as usual, till we were all just about frozen then called it a day.
I think next Saturday will be a compression test for @Faheem.:)

Tony.

Another point to note - Reggie had weird nuts ! . . . . . . . . I shall explain. Where the cross brace was mounted to the rear beam studs the original hexagonal style nuts had been replaced by some large SQUARE nuts which had a machined shoulder on them that located inside the hole in the end of the brace. Fortunately I had some old Whitworth 12 point sockets knocking around, one of which just happened to fit these square nuts like a glove! I said to Dave that he would have to buy a pair of new nuts from BMW to replace theses square nuts because we had to reuse the square ones to re attach Reggire's rear cross beam. Unless the Zed Shed (South) boys might have any that Dave could beg? @Lee ?
