Thats very strange that the steering should be so lively on run-flats, in a way I can understand it. I don't remember my Z4 being that different on the run-flat tyres. I changed to ordinary tyres after speaking to people in the BMWCC, Ordinary tyres are more compliant and in my view more comfortable for the driver. The suspension on the Z4 is so different to the Z3, on Msport suspension it drives like a go-kart. I love it.
Although the Z3 and Z4 are from the same stable they are totally different to drive. I enjoy driving both equally.

run flats are good for every day run of the mill cars not for z4, i do most of my driving down b roads not lively steering but tram-lining nothing really strange about that fact is for anything other than driving on duel or motorways they are crap but then again all depends on your driving style, iam not miss daisy;)

Been hanging my nose after a Z4 for a while now, thought if I bought a 2.0SE I could probably keep the Z3, but this 2.5Si came along and I just had to have it, Z3 sold to help fund it.But for 3 more days I own both.
Guy who sold it said it came with a M/// pack ? steering wheel has the logo, seats appear different, who can tell me if what he said is true ?

Eyup Terry! Welcome to the brighter side of life! You'll know me as davejue1 but on here they all call me grumps! Don't know why lol! Good to see you on here mate. Welcome aboard. Car looks lovely, look forward to seeing it, if we could find a good reason to have a 4 we would. We wouldn't sell the 3 and I've got my saab for work and Jue has the freelander for the dogs so just no room in the family for another car.

Hi Terry, I'm back now, love that car mate especially the wheels. Looks as though the 3 will have to go to give you some parking space anyhow.

Tony.

ps. I had to dash off posting re the spec finder, have you done it yet?

Nice to see you Dave, Julie and Tony on here. Only have the V5C/2 new keepers slip at the moment and there is no VIN number on it, I'll give it a go as soon as paperwork comes through.
Really need someone to give me driving lessons in it,Only driven 50 miles collecting it, like what does the sport button do, when do I use it etc ?
Z3 was getting tired, 120000 miles, and needed some £ spent on it, thought it best to invest in a newer one.
Gone to a good home though, guy runs a body shop so is giving it the once over and joining us on here, good news was in the 4 years I had it I lost £200 on the deal, I can live with £50 a year costs.

what does the sport button do
It messes with the throttle mainly and makes it more responsive/sporty. I always hit the button as soon as the engine started as there was no real appreciable effect on fuel economy.

As above, no more power but increased response from altering the pedal/throttle mapping & it also reduces the amount of power assistance to the steering making it slightly heavier.
If your si has the m sport seats, suspension etc it's probably an si sport as opposed to an si se (although all those things can be specced on an se model, just like my 3.0si se)
Regards

Hi Terry, looks like you've got the same spec as us. As others have said the sport button messes with the throttle response and the steering. There is no change to the suspension.
