I thought raise/lower was good up to 20 mph ? I think its actually 22/23mph, but 20mph is reliable. But glad you're all sorted . . .
I think, having tried it I could up the speed to No.3 Alex. That would be nearer to the speed my Z3 worked at.

Tony.

As you all know it has been quite hot this summer and I had a couple of fans working in the Shed. When Shirl spotted this beast in Lowes this morning she said, "I bet you would like one of those in the garage?"

I said, "I would settle for one at the end of the drive!"

A few weeks ago I removed the 2 struts behind the grilles on my E89 and lapped them with red insulation tape and while it looked OK it wasn't the best.
I ordered some red sticky vinyl which arrived just before we went away.
So today I removed the struts again and peeled off the tape.

You can see the difference quite easily.

And they look better on the car too.

Much tidier but If that film lifts off Tony you could try red plastidip spray that you can peel off when you want it back to black.
I have a dreadful xperience with plasti-dip.
had covered the filter box in the wife's Range Rover and the bloody thing smelled like acetone filling the cabin with a very sour odour. Maybe the wife is very sensitive but she had me remove it after two days and never stopped complaining ever since. (Ok maybe I overkilled it with ten layers of plasti… but…).

Alex, @AleNod they sent me 2 x A4 sheets and I only used 1, so if you want to do yours you're welcome to the other sheet. 10 minute job one Shed day.

Those butties are worth the trip out all on their own !

Is that this weekend ? Is that short notice for some maybe ? But yes, no problem, anytime . . .

Yesterday evening saw me and Shirl in the oil burner visiting @Simon ireland to purchase a set of refurbed alloys complete with a set of new Budget tyres. I discovered 2 cracks in my N/S/R wheel a few weeks ago and 1 new rim from BMW would've been over £700 inc. Vat. so this set of wheels & tyres was, to me, a no brainer.
So this morning armed with a product I bought from a Target store,
20221004_130529.jpg

I set about applying 2 coats over the "new" wheels, insides and out.

They came with brand new centre caps which just needed a colour change.

20221004_125951.jpg

Three laps of insulting tape makes them a better fit and less easy to remove (I discovered this many years ago when I had my Z3),
This is the 1st of the rear wheels done ready for fitting. @andyglym please note correct alignment of valves, centre caps and ///M badges. and "go faster" valve caps!;)
20221004_130323.jpg

And the 1st of the front ones also ready for fitting.
20221004_142504.jpg

And the full set.
20221004_144535.jpg

After fitting, where I fitted a pair of 20mm spacers on the rear and switched the previously fitted 12mm ones from the rear to the fronts.

Later, out in the rain. I'm not 100% sure about the wheel bolt caps yet (I wasn't on the previous wheels if I'm honest) but they need something as the front and rear extended bolts have different heads. If not Red then maybe Gloss Black or Bright Silver/Chrome?

Tony.

ps. I have a couple of other things in the pipeline too.
