Your all welcome round anytime, anything to keep our zeds on the roads. I'm starting to have quite the setup for working on these zeds, I seem to have made or modified a tool for every task now.

@pgunter when you pull your finger out and order those guages we can fit your M console.

Once scarlett is out I need to do the shift pins on my dads z3. Another task I'm looking forward to doing.

Lee

You realise Scarlett reads this thread, right?
Be careful what you say; we don't want to hurt her feelings now, do we?
Scarlett should be purring like a kitten pretty soon with all the attention she's getting after such a long time without any love at all. She will once again be able to wear the princess crown again. You've got a great crew working on her revival and I'm certain you won't get the smile off your face for a long time to come. Enjoy, just wish I could as more than moral support, I love team work and this forum is wAy ahead of any other I've ever been on. It's so good to see the meeting of the minds for solving each problem big or small. JIM

Well really good to meet Lee, his dad, Gary and David today and roll around in dirt for a couple of hours, some good progress made, although it did feel like it was Zroadster does Afrika Corps it was very dry eh Gary:whistle: and on the subject of Gary, he earned his first spanner today, very proud of him (only lost the one bolt);).

Also had my first taste of //M power today and liked it! looking forward to stripping my rear end now.......

Was great to catch up with you again Rich, and your extra pair of hands on Davids car gave me time to push on with the oil burning diagnosis on Rosie. If you require more than 2 cups of tea at Lee's bring some milk with you

On topic, I only have 2 pictures to add to Project Scarlett, but quite a few to add to Project Rosie...

New beam bushes installed. The mechanic who pushed out and fitted the new bushes said the old ones were the worst that Lee has taken him.

So, after two and a half hours on the train on Saturday, I arrived at Basingstoke station and was greeted by Lee and his Z3M. After a short drive, and a quick reminder of how fast an ///M is, we arrived at the Zed Fed Workshop., greeted by @Lee , @GazHyde and @zedonist .This was the first time I had seen, in the flesh, just how corroded some of Scarlett's undergarments were, but @Lee and co. had done an amazing job at sprucing her up.

By the time I had arrived, it was reassembly time, which lasted pretty much all evening, and even I got my hands dirty, refitting the exhaust and crossbrace, after successfully removing and refitting my lip spoiler, as I had seriously f@cked up on the first attempt (by pretty much just sticking it down in a straight line across the bootlid).

When the work was finished, Lee took Scarlett for a spin, and listened out for and knocks, noises and teething problems. The difference from the restoration of her rear end and the full service was awesome.

A big smile was on both of our faces. We cried all night. The End.

...Except this is not 'The End' at all. We came across a small issue regarding one of the ABS sensors, and its unwillingness to part company with the rest of the car due to corrosion. So we ordered pizza, watched a film, and waiting for the morning to come and headed over to @spurs fan in a coupe (no more, but soon to be in a golf/scirocco/TT/not a French car) who provided us with an abs sensor in exchange for Gaz's and my old spare tyres! We returned to HQ and plugged the replacement in aaaand... Realised we didn't have the correct code reader to reset the light! A quick phone call to @pgunter and he was round in no time with his reader, and the light was gone in seconds! After a quick chitchat I was on my way, taking Scarlett for the first proper spin in over two weeks. :D

Thanks to everyone who has helped so far.
This is still not the end, just the end of this chapter; the rear now puts the front to shame, so that will be next month's addition to the thread!

David
