What thickness aluminium have you all used? Jsut fitted a k&n filter. Now I’m the process of making a template.
Also wht have is it people use to finish as a beading around the edges? Cheers

I used a 1.5mm x 500mm x 800mm sheet of aluminium and some boot trim seal for the edges.

1.5mm sheet makes for easy bending and sharper folds.

Just made a quick heatshield, as you can see theres a few air gaps around the hose and around the filter itself. It's made from 1.5mm aluminium. I've not fitted it securely yet, anyone think what i've done will be effective? Anyone made a top before? or like a lid

The lid/cover for mine is still work in progress. I tend to leave mine alone to help other people out. I did some temperature readings inside and outside of the heat shield and it would appear to make some difference. It's all in my progress thread.

Good job, there.

Perhaps, instead of a lid, you could use some "cat's whiskers" (or similar), as it looks like the only problem now is warm air getting over the top (between the bonnet and the shrouding).
