So what’s the breakdown in Zed types between members (active and otherwise)?

The title of this thread "What's the breakdown of zed types between members" maybe somebody who knows how could set up a vote thing where everyone can click to say what model(s) they have and we'd have some statistics.
Well good luck with that, you will never get that info, "everyone" wont or cant give the info, some members have long left but still registered, many members are very occasional visitors and many won't bother, so you will never have any true figures only the figures for those who can and will partake so the stats won't mean very much. 🤷‍♂️

So we'll rephrase the poll to "What's the breakdown of zed types between "Active" members "who give a hoot".

The number of people who don't give a hoot is also an interesting statistic.

'G29' @Argyll Andy, the only reason I didn't mention them in my comment is because, so far, I don't think there are many. I'm sure there will be more, but I suspect there will be most Z3, then E85 followed by E89 owners simply because they are more recent models.Coupes in smaller numbers as there are fewer of them and roadsters are probably a more popular choice as a fun summer car.

Somebody driving a 25 year old Z3 is likely to be a car enthusiast. Doesn't mind getting their nails dirty or looking for help learning how to get their nails dirty.

Somebody buying a brand new Z4 isn't necessarily interested in getting their nails dirty or even talking to other owners about dirty finger nails.

Everyone else is somewhere in between

I must be the exception to that, I’m definitely a car enthusiast, I get my nails dirty, and talk to other owners about dirty finger nails. My daily is a 2007 E90 with an N52 👍

Thank you..that was the primary point of the post..👌

The intent was not to generate a holier than thou vis other forums discussion…I can see from watching the various posts for a few months the general style and etiquette …I think we all know each forum has its pluses and minuses from a style / attitude / detail 😳

I was more interested in the demographics of who owned what vehicles …the observation was that most technical discussions and their frequency seem to revolve around Z3s..the question by implication was is the primary audience people here either current or past Z3 owners?..and that others that are here as legacy members ..or..whether folks who have never had a Z3 came here directly for the reasons others have discussed?

So why not simply ask how many Z3 and Z4 (of each type) owners are current members? I don't understand why social media has to be a part of the question.
Just to add to this I first had a Z3 for 6 years, an E85 Z4 for the same and now have an E89 for the last 2 years.

Yeah that'll work! :bashhead:
"Would those that don't give a hoot please respond and state they don't give a hoot, so it can be established who actually gives a hoot. Without a response, it can't be known whether you don't give a hoot or don't don't give a hoot " :p

I’m not sure why you are coming across so aggressively about this discussion…?

I came to this forum because I know some folks with Z3s and other Zeds and /or they have or had other Zeds..they mentioned their participation in this forum so I thought I’d look.

Its not an unreasonable question to ask what is the profile of forum members reference their current and historical ownership of Zeds and why they prefer or not this forum versus other forums ..

This forum is part of the greater social media universe…

I don’t understand your belligerence?

Please enlighten me👌

Well, I don't understand why you take my comments as aggressive. I simply point out that this is a very social forum and in my humble opinion is why people find it like it and stay.

I think there is a bit of topic cross threading here. The original question was about the numbers of Z3 owners vs Z4 and variations thereof. But the thread seems to then have deviated to talk about how good this forum is vs other forums and why people like coming here. Then people were answering one question but readers assumed it was the other topic that was being answered leading us all into one of those sitcom misunderstanding stage shows that, for some reason, are really very popular in Germany.

not one to disagree with you usually tony but in this case I'll make an exception, I was a member of the 350Z forum from 2012 when I owned a 350Z then a 370Z and they had exactly that a Z Shed based in dorset fantastic guy used to run that (Keyser) not sure if he still does but much like this forum very friendly must be something about Z's in general because most other forums are not friendly in fact they are full of arseholes.
Just so there is no misunderstanding in this part of this thread Andy, I didn't say there were no other "Sheds" out there, I simply said I didn't know of any and I'm not surprised to hear that there are. Thanks for the info mate 👍
