There is definitely a biased towards z3 models on this forum .
Personally i think there is various reasons for this primarily would be the z3 is the oldest and the types of owners they attract are more hands on as the 3 is that bit older and requires some ongoing restoration and a number of owners come from mazda mx5 , mgb and the likes cars that require tinkering.
There is a growing number of z4 as they start to get into a similar category so as time goes on there will become a growing database for E85
The E89 is still seen to be a modern car and as such a lot of the owners have as second car but they are not in the car scene and dont go to meets or join forums but again as time goes on this will also change as you start to get a different type of owner.
And as others have said there is a strong community spirit on here and a number of members dotted around the country myself included who are more than happy to use their time and knowledge to help out other owners no matter what zed they have and obviously this in turn strengthens the community spirit
Speaking personally i enjoy the contribution i make to the forum as i now do a number of regular activities.
I run Picture of the Month on here ,
do 2 full weekend runs a year ( spring and autumn) and i suppose i run Zedshed Scotland and help other members in need only problem with here is Scottish members are that bit more scattered than in other parts of the country but help out where I can.
As for your comment about how much non z3 content we would like to see.
I say the skies the limit because it all grows the knowledge base on here and like i said even though z3 models probably make up 2/3 of the members all other z models combined make up the rest i think you will see more e85 and e89 ( and g29 @Argyll Andy ) owners as time goes on.
Current zeds
Z3 1.9 ( m43) Dakar individual
Z3 1.9( m44) Turquoise Green auto
Z3 2.8 ( m52 tu) Orinoco individual
