There are some really interesting cars posted so far, and a few which probably should have been left off :bag:

Forgot to add one of my more interesting vehicles. Had '66 series IIA Land Rover with temperamental brakes and electrics.

Yes Gaz, I remembered that you had owned a 66 as, a few years back, we had a discussion about them on another forum.
I bought mine off a wind surfer teacher down at the beach at Zandvoort. He had re-spayed it BMW metallic dark red and had fitted truck seats. The heater worked very well and that was great in the winter as the inside was always frozen up. The rear door could not be locked, so I used to reverse park it up against a wall or something.
When it started to drink oil, I got rid of it.

Had a 71 LR short wheel base, can't remember model #, didn't start in winter usually but was a hoot to drive. My wife was prego that year and used it as her almost daily transport. Had more flat tires than all other vehicles combined. JIM

There was a Kawi 500 that came out around '69 or '70 that was a 2 stroke that was an absolute screamer. Nothing could touch it. The bike to have before that was the Triumph Bonneville 650. You were the king of the roost if you had one of those.

Just catching up and came across this...
TATA from Indian TATA steel that bought out Corus steel over here.
Bunch of punkawallah's.......

View attachment 4959
TATA cars were certainly not rated at the time. Since 2008 TATA have owned the JLR Group better known as Jaguar Land Rover. Sad the way that Brisish Industry has been allowed to be bought up wholesale. There's another story there but best not get started on that........

Oh my cars..... only the latest gets a mention..... 1999 BMW Z3 2.8ltr, although my wifes RX8 almost got in !

I like the RX8 and other Wankel engines (RX7, etc)
Maybe the unconventional that makes it interesting

That Kawasaki was a five hundred triple- 2 stroke that was absolutely scarey to ride. My buddy had one and I rode it for a bit. Crank on the throttle in any gear , front wheel lifted, rear dug in and off you went, unless you were hanging on for dear life. First bike I rode at 14 was a neighbours 63 triumph. Went to a 42-45 Harley, honda450, several suzukis and 750 Hondas. Now have a Honda 250 helix with sidecar, 450 Honda rebel, 99 honda aero1100 and 1940 Indian 45 scout. JIM

The RX8 was a purely logical choice. She had a Renault Megane convertible (terrible electrics on that car) and when the grandchildren came along decided that something more practical was required. The criteria a) 4 seats to allow child sets to be carried, b) 4 doors to insert the children into the seats easily c) reasonable fuel economy. The RX8 got 2 of the 3 (missing out on fuel economy at 22mpg average). Ironically, the children didn't like the enclosed feeling in the back so they hardly ever rode in it. The Wankel engine was so smooth, and easy revving (up to 11,000rpm) with a really well balanced chasiss that it really was a joy to drive...... perhaps that explains the fuel consumption!

When Fifth Gear borrowed my Z4 for a feature between the Z4, Boxster and RX-8 - Jason Plato chose the RX-8 :sorry::facepalm:
