What are the main differences between and Alpina Roadster and a Z4M Roadster?

Mike thanks for that, I have seen it and it is a nice car. I was looking for a very special one though.

I'd like to find something with a lower mileage if I can.

I need to find a car with a previous owner like Mark!

:)
You do but there are not many owners like me!

Haha..... If there were it would make the "Spotted thread" redundant!
Surely a contender for the "Best Post of 2013" award... =))

Perhaps not as unused as Mark's, Rev, I think if a car is run more regularly, it stays in better mechanical condition.

I would always go for an Alpina over an Z4M, IMHO a lot nicer to drive and a lot more exclusive.
Cheaper road tax also being a big tick in the box.
If Alpina had done a Z3 then I would have tried to get one to sit alongside the B10.
Also talk to a lot BMW techs and they will say buy an Alpina and not a M.
Also Alpina always understate their power figures.

Alpina never did a BMW commissioned Z3, but there are certainly ACS and Hartge versions out there that had the full design house experience and not just aftermarket add ons, now those will be rare

Since this thread started I've been following the prices of cars and the sales.

No Alpina Roadster S has come onto the Market with less than 36K miles in the last 12 months. The ones that have been for sale have hung around. I've looked at a couple and found the condition really disappointing. I even paid a deposit on one that was described as immaculate but on viewing it was tatty and unloved. The body was "As New", but the interior was all scratched and "Well Used". I always think that the condition of the interior and exterior should match... or a story is told!

What has really surprised me though is the speed that low mileage Z4M Roadsters have sold for and the prices now being achieved. I rang about a 19K mileage vehicle last week and the car was sold within two hours to a dealer for just under the £15K asking price. Impressive. Added to that the dealer travelled the 150 miles to collect it.

I think this year could be a good year to own a quality example of a Z4 or a Z3.

This one of similar mileage has also just been sold for £19,850.00

Currently the best example on the market is this gem. 12,800 miles. I wonder how long it will be available for?

I saw a 2800 mile black z4m go for 14500 a year or so ago.

Was a bargain!

Z4M ROADSTER 3.2 2dr (2007)For sale from Sytner Sunningdale, in Berkshire, United Kingdom

It seems the Z4M Roadster has come of age this year.

The Black one at the top is now offered for £20,850, and there is a nice red one at £21,995 with 21K miles at Parkway, Nottinghamshire.

I think colours are all about personal preference, but to my mind it looks well. It's an easy colour to keep clean. Always stays clean longer (if that makes any sense). Dark colours always are so striking when clean, but show dust and dirt so much more readily.... And those irritating swirls that appear in dark paint work as if by magic!

With only 12.8K miles I reckon thats a peach of a car.

:)

Totally agree on preference, and I loved the look of my silver Z3 (and your Z8 of course). I think that the Z4M just needs a stronger colour, because they put hardly any effort in to styling it differently to the non-M version.

Wouldn't turn it down if it was offered to me for a decent price though ;)
