That's very common on style-42 wheels, the outer lip has some sort of clear coat from the factory under which it will oxidise after several years.

That's nothing that a decent wheel repair shop couldn't fix, it's even doable without taking the wheels apart.

I'd advise against fixing yourself though, that's no DIY job without the proper tools. It needs to be sanded down prior to polishing and that will be a PITA if you do it yourself. Ask me how I know
Thanks for the prompt reply 😀 I thought I could just polish it normally with an eccentric but I will take your advice 😌!
Ok do you think for 600 pounds the wheels are worth it?

i made a device to sand mine when I had the Z.
cut a wooden round plate and bolted the wheel on it, then screwed it on my lathe.
as the wheel was spinning I used sand paper from 600 to 3000 and then clearcoat.
in less than an hour did all four of them.

I think that's a good price, can't imagine that you will find cheaper ones

@Zephyr that's a good option, otherwise an old wheel balancing machine would also do the trick.

I had style 42 wheels, look great but a real pain to clean. I bought a set of style 68s. They had been refurbished and had a good set of tyres on fo £400. Easy to clean. Probably prefer the 42s when they are clean but driving 10k a year they where never Clean

I have Style 68s for summer and I like them a lot and Style 18 for winter. My plan is to sell my Style18 because they have narrow ET and they are square. So I will make the 68s my winter and the new Style 42 my summer rims.

Installed a set of Garagistic clutch pedal brass bushings and I am very satisfied and finally the pedal feels solid 😁!

There are some differences that I discovered in the process that differ from E36/46 YouTube videos, due to the fact that our footwells are more crammed. For example, I discovered that we do have a "spring" but it is in a different location and hooked into the pedal. If anyone interested, I could upload the rest of my photos in a how-to thread.

After finding a very small leek in my radiator. I have this week fitted a new radiator/ water pump/ thermostat housing/ tensioner pulley/ drive belt/ radiator hoses and viscous clutch. So that is the cooling system done and should keep me out of trouble for a good few years.

Where did you buy the holder? I have mine in the trunk but perhaps it's better in the cabin 🤔
I used this but it took quite a lot of modification to fit it to my sports seats. It was to wide so I had to remove the corners back to the holes (taking the pre-drilled holes out). Drill new holes at 100mm pitch, shorten the third bolting point and bend it a bit here and there. Other than that it fitted like a glove. It is listed as a E36 bracket so I knew I was taking a chance. It might fit the standard seats as is but I don’t know for sure. There is a thread on here about fitting the fire extinguisher that shows the shape the bracket should be

Treated the Zed to a new [to me] bonnet & front wings and brand new sills. Then a respray including the doors. After the excellent work done on the mechanicals by @Lee & Co down at Zedshed HQ now the body looks just as good. Just the interior to refresh now.
Very happy to recommend the body shop I used if anyone is interested.

Well, in all honesty, I didn't buy it this week I bought it a couple of years ago but I did use the rest of it this week. This is the paint I used.

I painted the rear half of the roll hoop covers on my car to "go" with the red interior.
I decided to take the rear bits off and remove the front pieces to colour them the same.

Enough left to touch up a couple of small chips on the rear pieces.
