Are the old ones totally useless? If they're not split, insert them into the holes in the boot lid and fill them with silicon. Allow a day or so for it to solidify then insert the screws.

In that case I would use some 3M or similar double sided tape to attach it. The panel weighs next to nothing.

Finally got boot deflector brackets fitted. Got the clips

from BMW slight bit of filing but perfect fit. Bargain 22p each. That beats the £20 the scrap yard wanted for them.

But you know what Paul, mine has never been back on there since I got the car. First I had a perspex type panel made for it engraved with my forum name and now my rear facing camera is mounted on that!

ps. I had a look in a Lowes hardware dept. when we were inn Florida but couldn't find any small enough. I was going to bring some home with me.
