New suspension arrived today. It looks too nice to put it on a grubby old car.
Being fitted on Saturday, so hopefully the ride height issues will be overcome.

I got a message from my upholsterer this morning saying my door cards were finished. So I shot over there (only 20 minutes away), picked them up and fitted them this afternoon. THE most excited I have been so far with this car.

He has made a nice job, especially the door pockets, as I am not great at explaining things. They are exactly what I wanted. I am pleased with the saddle colour for the majority of the leather; it's not too dark.
Just waiting for him to finish the rest, so I can get it fitted,

This is fantastic Pond 🤩 Where did you buy this vinyl from and what is the colour code?
It's leather. Came from Crest Leather, called 'Shelly saddle'. It is a pigmented, corrected grain leather, so is supposed to be hard wearing, as it's going on the seats too.

Well, this thread is a sort of "Katharsis".
From unconscious thoughts and feelings into conscious awareness and experiencing fully, it leads to emotional healing and a sense of relief.

Had a mate over today to fit the new suspension (I didn't fancy doing that). Car is sitting much better on the coilover factory settings.

I have a Mountney steering boss adapter. I can confirm that the BMW Z3 slip ring will NOT fit on this, no matter what you try. So don't buy them if changing the steering wheel. I am going to have to buy a different boss adapter.

It would be a shame not to have arch liners. Just think of all the dirt that will end in there

Of course I have arch liners. ;) I have the old ones and new arch extensions. One of the last jobs to do, as a). I know they are PITA to fit and b) just in case I need to get in there for anything else.

All ready for MOT and to be back on the road!
Still a few jobs to do but it can drive and looks OK in my humble opinion.
Wow. That really looks good. Well done. Was all the stress worth it now.

MOT. I assume you'll need to change the V5 before going for an MOT? Otherwise they'll test it as a z3

If the V5C has been changed, the MOT tester can change the MOT database to agree with the V5C. You need to show him the original V5C, and he will take a copy of the V5C to keep for his records, and amend the database.

That's why if you do an MOT check on my car is comes up as what it is...

I don't know if he has to change the colour on the database, or whether that is transposed from the DVLA database
