Yes, 2.8 :D

Bought as long term keeper.

Plan at the moment is to slowly restore the Silver AC Schnitzer to as high a standard as possible. I have a Z3M centre console to fit, just need to source some VDO dials. Z3M front brake setup to install, once painted.

The Blue 1.9 - I need to get the ABS light sorted. Then put through an MOT, or put into storage until next summer when I will decide if I will sell or the misses will nick it. Hmm I wonder what will happen =))

The Blue 2.8 is having all the nice bits from the 1.9, such as:
  • Sports seats
  • Hardtop and fitting kit
  • Doorcards, maybe
  • Wheels
  • E46 330 front brake setup
  • Any other bits I deem necessary lol
The engine in the 2.8 already has a nice air intake and M50 intake manifold installed. Not sure about a remap, so somehow need to check this out - any ideas how to find this out would be greatly appreciated.
The bloke selling the car didn’t know about these mods, so previous owner most likely did them. My gain there ;)

Hmm hold on, screen washers... it's a 3.0 ?!?!?!
Not a 3.0 as it’s a 1997 and biggest engine was 2.8

Also that’s what the V5 says

I know, very pleased with that!
I only found out when I went to my local BMW breaker who only breaks E36, as I was asking about the M50 manifold. He had a look at mine and said that I already had it. Big grin appeared on my face.

Got the car last night, viewed it in the dark and only had my torch. So far happy with it. Just some bodywork bits to sort out.

Bought her down in Portsmouth.

As the weekend looks to be quite good weather was thinking of a drive. Don’t know if you’re about and fancy it - and anyone else?

Certain it's the same car Jim. Wonder if it's had an owner change from the guy i'm thinking owned it. @GazHyde your good at recognising zeds, any bells ringing?
Can't do anything this weekend mate but I'm sure we can get out at some point.

Well the Silver one has just had the battery tray replaced.

Looked like a previous battery leak had caused the bottom of the battery tray to rust like crazy and was bending like a bit of cardboard :(

Got a good one from @spurs fan in a coupe who cut one out from a Zed he was breaking.

Had it welded into mine and painted. Just got it back and looks like new. :D

For some reason I didn’t take a photo of how it looked before

Yes, really happy with the finish. The bloke who did it used some paint that apparently paint stripper won't even take off. So hopefully it will last a while :)
