It really is appreciated mate but I don't want to touch it until have battled it out with them. If they don't do it then I'll be talking to you about having the bumper done anyway if you'd want the job.Ok mate, no worries, means I can get my seats fitted now, I was actually looking forward to getting it gleaming again.
Thanks Dave. I really don't expect them to come back with much but worth a shot. I do feel really let down by the original painters tho. Never paid out for a full respray and this is what I end up with but Sean thinks by the pics it will come back up hopefully. Just caught up with this one Dave. Keep pushing to get the firm to rectify the problem even if strictly they may have little liability for it.
Measuring the thickness of individual paint layers over re-sprayed steel panels accurately would be extremely difficult, over plastics virtually impossible. There are ways to do it but they are destructive and not worth considering for your circumstances. I would rely on the visual assessment of one of our paint experts and their advice on how to rectify it. Hopefully it will be possible to improve the appearance by polishing. I would hold off polishing until you decide that rectification is not an option.

To be honest short one I'm not overly patient but what can I do? I can't go screaming and threatening them as they didn't do the work in the first place. I'm playing the "let's be nice" game so we will see what happens. I'm not confident but who knows.Good luck @Grumpy,been following the thread and I'd be a bit fed up as well mate if it was me

Well see Jim. I'm going to give them till the end of Wednesday to come back either way and go from there. I've had very kind offers off some forum members to get the rest of the car back up but I may end up paying to get the bumper painted. I also have a couple of small dents in the top centre of the boot lid to get out.
At least you can say you gave them an honest amount of time Dave. Hopefully they'll look at repairing the bumper as good customer relations but at least you have plan B in place! GL! JIM
