Reggies paint appears to be failing.

Try the nail test on the area's that have sunk, if you can't mark it you stand a good chance of saving it, if its soft, I'm sorry to say you will be wasting your time trying to polish it as it will just move again.
OK I've done the nail test and it hasn't marked at all so that's a good sign?

If it does not work out with them then i would suggest machine polishing one panel and see how it stands up before making a decission mate
Whatever you think best mate but yep that makes sense to me. The passenger door is by far the worse panel.

The trouble is with it been resprayed before then it is virtually impossible to determine how much top coat they have applied. Even with a depth gauge you could read same levels but one area could be more base and the other area could be more top
This was the level they went down to mate. The guy that inspected it suggested it could be the lack of lacquer thats causing it but he was guessing.

When I first had it done it looked fantastic. This was taken just after it had been done.

Have you got pics of the door in question ? will give an idea of how far back they went
The depth gauge should be able to work the rest out

I haven't mate. This was another issue I had at the time. I asked for pics as they went along and they took nothing at all. The few I have are what I took when I went up one night and found it left outside! Only the bonnet was stripped at that point.

From what Sean said that's good Dave, means the paint has cured right through and all coats are bonded together if I read it right.

Tony.

I hope so mate. It came up nice when I had at go at yours with Ants DA but didn't last long. In the sunshine it looks lovely but when the sun isn't about it looks dull as dishwater. :(

Grumpy it could even be that the car was not fully dried off before spraying if left outside. One thing i do know is whilst under preparation it should remain indoors so as not to get contaminated

Grumpy, I still think someone hit you up the ass in a car park.
No mate, it's sparadic around the bumper, doesn't fit in with a nudge up the ass.

It's a done deal mate if they don't come up trumps which I doubt they will. Thanks again for the offer.

It looks to me like there is plenty of top coat mate, there is a decent depth on the pic when they are polishing it, it may well be that it wasn't baked or cured enough when they polished it and let you have it, we have the same problem, even though we bake, the paint is still not cured when we let the car go, I recon you have a good chance of getting a decent finish, I'm also free on Saturday afternoon and will gladly have a crack at it for you, not that I want to stand on anyones toes of course, the only cost to you will be the fuel to get it to Grimsby, and to make the tea of course.

Hopefully then mate it should come back up, I hope so as I can't afford to get it done again. Thanks for your offer Sean, I'll let Bill have a go as he's on the doorstep and offered first. Before anything happens tho I will see what comes back from the bodyshop, I dropped them an email last night.
